Årsmøte og Forelesning med DROM

BAF inviterer til årsmøte og spennende forelesing med arkitektkontoret DROM!

DROM, basert i Rotterdam, Nederland, består av Timur KarimullinSofia Koutsenko og Timur Shabaev. Kontoret arbeider innenfor urbanisme, arealplanlegging og arkitektur, med prosjekter basert i Nederland og Russland. DROM vil fortelle om to av deres nylige prosjekt, 'Suture', fullført i 2016, og 'Foam of Production', et pågående prosjekt i Amsterdam.

 

Forelesing vil være på engelsk, og starter etter årsmøte i BAF.

 

DROM

DROM IS A TEAM OF URBANISTS, ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERS WHOSE MAIN GOAL IS TO ENVISION AND REALIZE ENGAGING SPACES FOR PEOPLE. DROM OPERATES OUT OF ROTTERDAM ON PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD, REGARDLESS OF TYPE OR SCALE.


As this month marks the Europan season with E15, DROM will be presenting to BAF two of their winning proposal in Holland, ‘’Suture’’ completed in 2016, and ‘’Foam of production’’currently under development, having won in the last edition. With this experience of open competition, public private partnership they will debate about how can project emerge from this synergies. With a large part of their work in Russia, they will present us also new public and private projects redefining the role of public space in a second attempt to re-urbanise and diversify Soviet metropoles.
As a collective of diverse thinkers with experience ranging from exhibitions and architecture to masterplans, DROM engage each new project with critical and analytical research and design tools. DROM believe in the value of good design as process, striving to achieve optimal solutions with limited resources. DROM is interested in the topics of productive environments, new models for cities and materialization of architecture.
Timur Karimullin
Completed his second masters at TU Delft in 2012. His final project received the University’s honorable mention and was a finalist at Archiprix 2012. Timur received his first masters from Kazan State University of Architecture and Building Construction in Russia, where his diploma project won Archiprix 2007. Prior to joining DROM, Timur worked at the Institute of the Contemporary Urban Project in Mendrisio, OMA in Rotterdam, SVESMI in Rotterdam and led Russia-based projects at Kees Christiaanse Architects and Planners (KCAP). Timur has been a guest critic for different design studios at TU Delft and KSUABC.
Sofia Koutsenko
Received her post professional masters from Harvard University in 2015 and a bachelor in architecture from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. Prior to establishing DROM, Sofia worked at 1100 Architect in New York, OMA in Rotterdam and as an independent architect, completing projects in San Diego and New York. Sofia was an Adjunct Professor at The New School of Architecture and Design and advised thesis at Woodbury University San Diego campus. She acted as guest critic at Harvard University, TU Delft and Northeastern University. She was a finalist of Harvard Graduate School of Design’s Julia Appleton Traveling Fellowship in 2015.
Timur Shabaev
Graduated in architecture from Ufa State Petroleum Technical University in 2001 and received an advanced master degree from The Berlage Institute in Rotterdam in 2010. He is a winner of Europan 10 and 11 in The Netherlands. His project, “Campus” in Moscow, was a finalist of Bauwelt’s Das Erste Haus 2015. Prior to establishing DROM, Timur worked at Meganom in Moscow and OMA/AMO in Rotterdam. As part of AMO, Timur worked on developing the educational program for Strelka Institute in Moscow and taught the “Public Space” theme.
