Hitra 2 Wind Farm Eldsfjellet

When Hitra 2 was built, client Statkraft was in charge of finding the positions for the windmills, in collaboration with manufacturer Vestas. Asplan Viak were in charge of landscape and roads, with Joachim Salomonsen as project manager. He was given 27 coordinates for the placement of the windmills, each with a leeway of 12 metres, to allow for a certain degree of landscape adaptation. Salomonsen explored the terrain, in order to avoid making choices that will have too much impact on the landscape and environment.
